Dad Tip of the Day: Helping kids understand concepts like chores and work projects help give kids an understanding of responsibility.
My kids are still quite young but we are already working on showing them what chores are, as there are just things my wife and I have to take care of that we will eventually also have the kids help on. An example is taking out the trash each week. Jacob must help me pull out the garbage barrels to the curb. My wife also has made Jacob vacuum before, and he must always clean up after taking out his toys. I also try to have Jacob periodically help me on special projects that need to be done, such as weeding the yard.
We did one similar project over the weekend where we changed a broken light bulb in mom’s taillight. Someone had told us the brake light was out, so I had Jacob stand behind the car while I hit the brakes, and had Jacob point to which light bulb was out. He then helped unscrew the taillight assembly and pull out the bulb. Once replaced, I had him verify the light was working while standing behind the car again. It was! I actually have not tested or verified it myself as I trusted he could analyze whether the brake light was working again (so hopefully it is actually fixed!). Here are a couple of pictures from the project:
I swear my wife put a swifter in Jacobs hand before he could walk... here is a gif I created from when he was less than 1.5 years old:
A study from Michigan State University says the following about kids and chores:
“Even though they might complain occasionally, most children are happy and capable of helping out around the house. Establishing a chore routine and assigning chores starting at an early age will be beneficial to both parents and children.” The study goes on state that the benefits for kids can include confidence, self-efficacy, pride, goal achievement and productivity, among other life skills.

So there you have it, start your kids helping with chores at an early age!
Any chore-task recommendations from my steemit friends for young kids?
Take care,
Brian
As personal advice, it would be to continue as you are doing but rewarding their activities so that they feel motivated and see something fun domestic chores of the home, also teach you through games the interesting of the assets of the home, greetings brother.
@calitoo
We are in the same @ brian.rrr my daughter is almost 2 years old where she is very spoiled, but I will wait for her when she is older to educate her and help in the domestic work, I hope that you will be able to solve this in a great way since I have seen other experiences that the more they grow the more they are more uneducated, hehehe, greetings.
I used to help with the setting is dinner table and stuff like that.
Maybe that would help
It is quite interesting to instill responsibilities in children from an early age, my son is about to turn 3 years old, has small tasks, even though I do not know what would be the time for you to have other responsibilities, but at least order their toys, it is important that they grow up with an awareness that they can help in household chores and that not only mom should do it, so I think it is fantastic what you do with Jacob, plus is a beautiful child.
Hahahaha I could laugh a lot with that already from there although it is fun they are teaching them to do chores of the house as you know I do not have children but at home they always told me that I should help to take out the trash maybe to sweep the patio, reocoger a little the leaves water the plants and when you grow up they put a little more tasks like washing the dishes and those things.
Good job Jacob did it well
Brian, I admire that you are getting started early with your kids. My children will help out with chores but I really don’t think they have the importance ingrained in them. If I was to do it over again I would start my kids on chores much earlier!!! They do like to help out with the things they “enjoy” but I would like them be more involved without prompting. Well done dad!!
I think you go very well with Jacob even they learn by watching mom while sweeping or passing a rag to the floor. When they see that, they want to repeat it and they are learning, it is important that they do it when they get to big help more tasks in the home to mom and dad and work will be much easier @brian.rrr
How are you at home today? I see that Jacob had a day full of fun tasks as well as the gif hahaha I think it is a good idea and good for them to teach them from small to help in the chores of the house that is to create responsibilities in addition to teach them to be very neat and neat, I think that starting with those simple tasks teaches them and they are creating that profile, very well
I liked your article a lot, it is important to educate the children in responsibility, to learn the value of loving the home and to collaborate with the parents... In this way these children will be an example, and you will have children that fill you with more pride. regards!
What you're writing here is so crucial for building accountable people and responsible humans. Being in touch with supporting common needs is a sadly lacking trait in us "civilized" humans. My mom had me pick rocks out of the garden, which is funny cause I do that a lot these days on our homestead!
The value of hard work must be instilled young, so great job for focusing on it so early. I like that you had Jacob help with the taillight fix, I feel that kind of involvement builds self worth and develops confidence.

Really Good Tips for every kids Father i think, should follow this tips every parents.
Jacob will be a great man if you teach him well
it is a great idea it will make them independent for later life x
very good to teach you how to take out the trash would also be good to teach you should give food to the dog hehe
Let me tell you that you are a wonderful father if you teach your child since he is young.
Great argument yours to teach your son the things that must be done at home, my husband also does that with my son to teach
Your child is very smart and learns quickly and more if you teach him much faster. I greet my dear friend
That's a good point. If we don't start to teach our kids from young age, it would be hard to teach them when they get older.
That's so cool you have him help out already. I think it gives kids a sense of belonging that they can help out. It also helps develop a curiosity for fixing things. If you just do everything for them, they can't learn how to do thing for themselves and it will stunt them later on. Good to see your son is getting started early. And hopefully the light actually works. I suppose you could have him step on the brake pedal while you look at the lights. :)
Yes Yes, this is very important. Both Owen and Oliver clean up after they play with their toys also. Always while singing "clean up, clean up." LOL
it remembers me in my childhood past parents sweep and wash dishes
I congratulate you, my friend, Educating children is not easy, but you are doing a great job.
