Okay, it’s been a little while since the last Nug Blog. And when you wait that long between them, a lot changes! That’s because you’re growing up very quickly at this age.
You are almost a toddler. I don’t think we can still call you a baby either (although we still do sometimes). You are constantly talking in your own language, and we understand a lot of it. You say many, many words really well, like “apple” or “wash” or “all done.”
You’ve mastered walking and can get up to a pretty good run. You’re rolling and jumping and climbing too.
And all this you do at your daycare! That’s right, last time I said daycare was going to be a big topic, and here we are. Most days you spend most of the day away from Mommy and Daddy and with your friends and teachers. It was a big change, but you handled it very well. You even have naps at daycare and eat snacks and lunch there.
A big part of adjusting to daycare are the germs. All the new people mean we catch new germs and get sick more often. One reason it was hard to write a Nug Blog in February was because the whole family had germs and was sick! That’s all normal and we expected it to happen.
Another big thing to remember: we went on a big family trip together in early March. You’ve been on a plane before, not too long ago. And you did really well this time too. We had a house together with your cousins and Aunt and Uncle in a nice warm place (it was still cold at home). You rode in a bike trailer, played in the sand, and dipped your toes in the ocean. You were old enough to run around and play with your older cousins, and everyone had so much fun.
So much more has happened too, I won’t be able to write it all down. You can use a fork, almost get onto the couch, tell us when you want your diaper changed… One more thing: we’ve been visiting the library more often and you really like the new books we borrow. You get a new batch of books every two weeks or so, and we try to renew the ones you like the most.
We are all looking forward to the warmer weather, so that you can run around in the park near our house. Maybe by then you’ll be having full conversations? We shall see.
Lots of love as always,
Dad

Oh, I missed you having a child 😅
How old are they? ❤️
