You know, for me, the worst thing about making pies is the pastry! So now I buy puff pastry and that makes a huge difference. I also enjoy the odd pie, but even here, they don't make them like they used to (I don't think, anyway). One of my favourites to make is just grated cheese and onion wrapped up in puff pastry and then to turn it into real comfort food, eating it with All Gold tomato sauce! Yum!
