A Heavenly Visitation

Luke 9: 28-36

Qs. 1,7. See Questions HERE.

DISCUSSION:

Jesus took His three closest disciples and retreated to a mountain for a time of prayer. While he prayed, the disciples were overcome by deep sleep. Jesus is indeed our greatest example of someone whose life was lived in constant communion with God. What, in v. 31, was the topic of discussion with the special visitors? This visit would have brought great comfort and emotional support to Jesus as He prepared for the path of greatest suffering that was so imminent. We must learn to allow God to use us as channels of His timely support to those who need such encouragement.

God gave Peter, James and John the privilege of having a taste of Jesus' heavenly glory and they were overwhelmed with fear. In addition to the emotional support of the two visitors, God once again audibly endores Jesus as His chosen Son (v. 35). When we are determined to obey and surrender all to Jesus, God will be pleased to accept our sacrifice and will also endores us before people. God's moments of blessedness in our lives are not meant to be kept secret. Why do you think the three disciples did not go about sharing what they had experienced?

And so:

The revelation the disciples experienced is a replica of what the Christians will experience at last.

Prayer:

Lord, the challenges I face are overwhelming. I need your visitation, peace and encouragement.

We too must remain in constant communication with God, this is a part of our survival kit. God dos not want a group of people who just attend a gathering on a fix day, but He promises that we would do greater works than Jesus did. God wants to use us, open our spiritual eyes to see and know things which we could not know except by divine intervention. I really hope readers catch the gist of this article. We may not go up on a mount and see Moses and Elijah, but God can take us and plant us in places we never dream of to witness for Him. Bless you.

Thanks @starr86 for your contribution. Remain blessed.
