From the point of view of botanical curiousity, here's an interesting facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/planetpsychoplants/ There have been quite a few posts and pictures of daytura. It seems there's two plants people refer to by that name. It's hard for me to be sure but I think it's the small shrub with the spiky seed pods (Devil's Apples) that featured in The Teachings of Don Juan... After reading that book I was really curious about the preparation it kept referring to.
