The first exercises in the #DAOconcept - Regulations Exercises.
What are regulatory exercises?
With the regular exercises you can start the day in the morning or prepare for your training. The regulation exercises after the Daoyin yangsheng gong (DYYSG) are divided into four blocks:
- regulation of the mind
- regulation of breathing
- regulation of the body
- exercises that have a nourishing effect on the inside
mental regulation
With these exercises, you'll settle down. Your mind becomes calmer, more focused, your breathing slows down. It's getting quieter around you. The optimal posture for practising qigong.
Breathing regulation
The breath becomes deep and slow. These exercises promote abdominal breathing, the inner organs are gently massaged. The breath becomes more conscious.
Regulation of the body
Gentle, slow movements increase mobility. The ligaments and tendons are stretched, the joints are opened. With the regulation of the body we warm up our physical body for the qigong exercises.
internal nourishing exercises
We live energetically in deficit. This applies above all to our energy in the middle. For this reason, exercises that strengthen the centre are important.
The regularization exercises are basic exercises in the #DAOconcept, which are already practiced in the first ring. They only take 20 minutes a day and are easy to learn.
The exercises can be practiced by anyone. They can be easily adapted to your own physical condition.
From practice
For many years I have been practicing qigong with older adults. With regular practice of the regular exercises I notice again and again how natural and simple positive effects affect the mobility, the sense of balance and the strengthening of the body.
Most of the time it is people over 40+ who learn qigong in my courses (my oldest participant was 95). The effect of these exercises is often underestimated and therefore the regular exercise is often neglected.
An elderly lady from one of my courses had problems with her sense of balance. She has done all the exercises standing on one leg for a long time, always with both feet on the ground. At some point, she realized that she was no longer so shaky on her feet. Her leg musculature had become stronger, her sense of balance and her sense of balance had improved.
Through this we prevent prophylactic falls. People who are safer on their feet are less likely to fall or are more effective at catching themselves in a fall.

In the next article I will describe the regulation of the mind so that you can start with these first exercises.
