Besides i personally favour information-based quantum theories, so I do believe that dark energy has to carry it.

a star is a self-sustaining ball of gas and nuclear fire which functions on some basic principles of nature
stars have a core, and a defined life cycle and there are many kinds of stars born on their own from the remnants of their predecessors.
Certain stars survive longer and leave more matter to spawn new stars with the same elemental composition.
this way you will eventually be left with only a few kinds of long-lasting star
if you ignore the scale, stars seem to behave like a not-sentient microbe of sorts.
