RE: Just met up Omar (Crypt0) at the DASH conference!

in #dash7 years ago (edited)

To be fair I haven't seen much of his crypto work since finding out he is a flat Earther. I did defiantly get some insight/news into the crypto world from him at the start. And he is very enthusiastic and thats one reason I was drawn to him.

I do have to disagree though that he is good to have a around. New people are coming into crypto every day and I'm sure many are running into Omar. If they figure out that Omar is a flat earther they could possibly discount crypto as part of another fringe idea like flat earth.

I think it's important to call people out on these completely false claims that were proven wrong hundreds of years ago.

I hope he changes his mind because he seems like an nice guy but his belief in flat earth is completely unacceptable and unbecoming of athought leader in this technologically advanced space. I do hope that @boxmining will reply to this comment.

In fact I found @boxmining after leaving Omar's channel. So there is a little cause and effect there.

Yeah, it's important for leaders in any space to not have any black marks that nay-sayers can grab onto. For boxmining, it's the promotion of cloud mining. It's a massive scam, and the "legitimate" options are terrible investments.

I haven't looked into cloud mining at all but @boxmining send more technical knowledgeable than Omar. Although if he does come out in support of flat Earth I'd drop him like mic.
