I suggested on Dash Forum that a Dash slot machine be developed in partnership with a casino in Las Vegas. Interested parties could buy Dash tokens to use on the slot machines. While such a slot machine might earn a modest profit for Dash, the publicity from media and gamblers/tourists would provide Dash with a quantum leap in recognition as a "digital currency." It would be exciting. While such an image would not appeal to staid, Establishment-yearning developers, for "We The People" it would create a substantial spike in interest. ("You mean there's a crypto currency besides Bitcoin?") Media would have a field day out of it. While Dash might not be able to allocate creative developers to work on such a project, there are many gamers with the skills to develop such slot machine programs in partnership with Dash. Hence, casino visitors could use cash/credit cards to obtain Dash tokens to play the Dash slot machine. What excitement would arise when three or four "Dash Ribbons" lined up! Word of mouth from tourists to hometown friends would make Dash have a meaning other than one of several Olympic events every four years or, perhaps for the literate, "stylish activity."
What Dash needs is acceptance as a digital money. Gambling and gaming fit under the broad category "Sport" ("Are you sporting?") This happens to be a multi-billion dollar business. Not to be overlooked on the groundless basis of moral turpitude. "We The People" flood the landscape of potential spending and determine where it should be spent. Now, Dash, give us the digital cash! Show us the money!
