WHAT IS IoT?
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the framework of somatic devices, vehicles, gadgets and other elements coherent with electronic parts, programs, sensors, actuators and comparability that allows these entities to interact and trade data.
The number of able devices online increased by 31% from 2,016-8,400 million euros in 2017. Experts estimate that the IoT will be composed of about 30 billion objects by 2020. It is also estimated that the value of Internet of Things in the global market will reach $7.1 billion in 2020.
PROBLEM OF DATA COLLATION
Big companies, researchers and government spend billions of dollars collate data annually but unfortunately have no meaningful use of the data. Such data are just stored in silos without any further usage. You can imagine how much data companies like Facebook, Linkedin, Google to mention but a few, have in their possessions. The big question is what is these companies using such data for and why spending so much in collation if there's meaningful use for it.
In its path from the sensor to the silo, all of this data is transferred to gateway operators such as telecommunications companies, networks and even sensor manufacturers' control panels.
These sensor owners generally have a two-year business case for their location and the data they generate. It is expected that the primary market for these sensors will reach 1.2 trillion dollars in 2019 and estimating that at least 10% of the data generated is searched for others (from 1 to 3 times), the value of the blocked data will reach 120 billion by next year!
DAO DataBroker is the first market to sell and purchase sensor data. As a decentralized data market for IoT sensors using Blockchain technology, Databroker's DAO allows sensor owners to convert data generated into revenue streams. This will open up many opportunities for different sectors. The data will be used and will be more effective.
DataBroker: A peer-to-peer marketplace for IoT sensor data is the solution to the challenge above.
By using a market of smart contracts in the Ethereum network, it is possible to unlock this value. Through their gateway manager, sensor owners sell data generated by sensors (since they point to some of their DTX tokens) and buyers can discover and buy data access using the same DTX token.
The gateway operator programs the Ethereum mainway blockchain node and run the open source DataBrokerDAO dAPI (distributed API) at the top simultaneously. The data gotten by the sensors of customers are sent to the DAPI that controls who has bought the access and sends the data directly to the location specified by the buyer at the time of purchase.
Because the gateway operator is already configured to handle the data generated by the client, the routing data paths acquired at a location on the Internet are a direct extension.
To do so, the gateway operator receives 10% of each DTX token transaction. The platform also gains 10% and, what is more important, most of it corresponds to the owner of the sensor that receives 80% of the income.
Transending from local to global markets, the DAO implementation of DataBroker is cloned with a multitude of channel operators around the world.
This guarantees access to a global data market. Anyone in the world can buy any information available anywhere, so it is truly "a global market of local data".
THE STAKEHOLDERS
The varios stakeholders in DataBroker DAO are sensor owners, gateway operators, data processors and data buyers. Below is a chart defining each of these stakeholders.
