A group of four like-minded college students from North Carolina State University developed a Nail Polish that changes color when exposed to date rape drugs like GHB, Rohypnol & Xanax. The nail polish wearer can stir her to drink with a finger. If her drink was tampered with, she’ll know within seconds.
Undergraduate students at North Carolina State University – Ankesh Madan, Stephen Grey, Tasso Von Windheim and Tyler Confrey-Maloney – created a nail polish known as “Undercover Colors” that changes color in the presence of these above-quoted common date rape drugs.
According to Madan, “we wanted to focus on preventive solutions, especially those that could be integrated into products that women already use,” and “All of us have been close to someone who has been through the terrible experience [because of date rape], and we began to focus on finding a way to help prevent the crime.”
