Holding rewards reduction & SIM Millionaire Club

About dCity

dCity is a mathematical and trading game based on non-fungible tokens available on Hive-Engine. Players build their own cities with tokens representing buildings, citizens, technologies, and earn income in the form of hive (based on ranking) and SIM token (based on city income). There are also cards that players can get only from playing the game like technologies, backgrounds and prevention cards.

Reduction in holding rewards distribution

HIVE holding rewards will be reduced by half within the next few days. This decision is due to the declining earning potential of dCity's Splinterlands cards, which previously generated a fair share of dcityfund's supply of HIVE, which was distributed daily to SIM holders. We will need to sell some of our Splinterlands cards and put the raised funds into more reliable and stable income sources, like BeeSwap.

The daily distribution of HIVE will continue unhindered. The change in the amount of prizes we had to undertake is to ensure continuity in the distribution of rewards to users in the future.

SIM Millionaire Club

With the growth of the dCity community and the progression of top user cities, a SIM Millionaire Club has recently been created. This is an exclusive club for people with a minimum of 1 million SIMs in their Hive Engine wallet or at least 1 million SIMs in the SWAP.HIVE:SIM liquidity pool. A person with SIMillionaire status will be able to participate in closed events only available to club members. However, we anticipate whitelisting for individual events.

At the very beginning, Splinterlands cards worth tens to hundreds of dollars will be auctioned for SIM Millionaire Club members. As more people become interested in the auctions, we expect to put up more expensive cards. Their starting price will be 50% of the current market price. The person who wins the auction will be able to pay for the auctioned cards in HIVE or USDC. The resulting funds will be distributed accordingly to purchase SIM and increase the funds of the dcityfund account, which will additionally earn from liquidity on BeeSwap.

However, along with auctions, we plan to introduce raffles for Splinterlands cards and other NFTs. The way in which these will be conducted will be announced in the future.

Reducing the popularity factor

The reduced popularity factor announced in the last post has been in place for a few days.
As a reminder, it is now: (popularity^0.65)/100.
The effects of this change were summarised by @qsett in his last post.

Uhhh slick!

I was shocked after seeing this announcement. This will encourage the players to play Splinterlands (Personally which I never played and no wish to play in the future)and discourage Dcity players, discourage Sim holders.....
Holding rewards reduction will be a very bad decision and Sim price will go to more deep and deep.

Yep, if we are not playing SPL, why we would hold SIM.

alternatively, it might encourage some splinterlands players to buy SIM
(assuming they 'got the memo') and that's worth noting since gerber advertises dCity inside splinterlands with tournaments that use ENTRY as the entrance fee, so the games already have some overlap in playerbase.

The Sim Millionaire sounds pretty awesome and for sure will incentivise people to HODL. I must confess that I am doing that but still a long way for me until 1,000,000 SIM tokens.

Well, to continue enjoying the game and to adapt to the new rules, I am still very new, but it has hooked me from the beginning, thanks for the information, may your days be productive of all mayors.

Its make me sock !lol

Knock knock...
ERROR: Joke failed.

@johndieo, You need more $LOLZ to use this command. The minimum requirement is 16.0 LOLZ.
You can get more $LOLZ on HE.
