In Memory**

We are but passersby
Passengers even
From birth, we know the only end goal is death
Death, a sweet peaceful sleep
Eternal rest
No more worries
Only peace

Former presidential aide and Labour Party Presidential campaign Director General Doyin Okupe is dead. Born as Adedoyin Ajibike Okupe on March 22, 1952, in Iperu, Ogun State, Nigeria, he was 73 at the time of his death.

Okupe was educated at St. Jude's School in Ebute Metta and Igbobi College in Lagos before studying medicine at the University of Ibadan. After completing his education, he worked as a medical doctor for several years before transitioning to politics.

Throughout his political career, Okupe was known for his willingness to switch political allegiances. He moved between several major Nigerian political parties including the PDP, Accord Party, Labour Party, and most recently, the APC. Before his death, Okupe entered into controversy which stemmed from his decision to join the ruling party APC after having been associated with opposition parties for many years.

Okupe faced some legal challenges during his career, including being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In January 2023, he was convicted of money laundering charges related to illegal receipt of funds from the Office of the National Security Adviser. This conviction led to his resignation as the Director-General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council.

In his personal life, Okupe was married and had children, including a son, Bolu Okupe.

Rest easy Mr. Okupe!
