I first got into crypto and Hive (Steem) for decentralization. A decentralization of power, money, resources, abundance. I haven't given up hope that it will turn into what I hoped it would, but I certainly underestimated the negative that adoption has created. Certainly anyone wanting to make money did in some of the days of big gains, but a lot of people bought at the top and were liquidated.
It's created resentment and a lot of negative in the space. But those early adopters are still plugging away, despite the up-and-down wave of prices and adoption.
You know what I ironically hate now? Crypto.
I hate it. I hate when I haven't talked to a friend in a while. I used to like it when crypto was brought up, now it makes me cringe. "Oh yeah so-and-so crypto is double from last year" - it's always about the price. Never mind the updates to the protocol, the new games being worked on, the framework.
No, lets talk the price.
You know what? Fuck the price.
IM SO SICK OF TALKIN ABOUT THE PRICE
So therefore, to most people, I don't want to talk about crypto because to a lot of people it goes hand-in-hand.
So, upon my soapbox I perch, crowing to anyone in earshot or a finger click, waxing poetic on how my belief in crypto is holier and more noble than thee as I post on a crypto blockchain, how fitting.
Deep Breath
Okay, lets talk this out.
I am a 90s kid. My uncle worked in technology so I actually had a hand-me-down Tandy Compatible green screen computer full of fun games like Frogger. Im sure there were more but I don't think they were playable at that point.
I remember being on Prodigy before AOL starting "aggressively" mailing discs in the mail so people could use it to access the internet.
Ahh, the good ole days.
We have chased global connection, but at what cost? I feel we have reached so far for connections, we are neglecting the source of our power, local abundance.
I personally think the answer isn't to "making more money", though that does give you increased freedom, so does having the ability to live on less.
I like to take a look at the amount of energy we use to leave the house, created someone else's dream, just so we can afford our lifestyle. We used to earn our living on our property, now most people leave their property, work at someone else's property, helping someone ELSE to build their dream, and we hope at the end of the day we have enough to stay afloat.
Seems to me is we rewind things a 100 years, take the good, throw out the bad, and start building from scratch, again.
The reason the "cost of everything is going up" is because the framework relies on you needing fiat to participate. The single best thing you can do is to build value outside that system. Lessen your need and reliance of it. That't literally the only way.
So I say continue to learn online, continue to reach out, find like-minded people.
Fuck Globally.
But act on it, apply it, use it to think locally.
"Think Locally - Fuck Globally" - Gogol Bordello
Hey, chavorale, think locally
Hey, palo mande, fuck globally
I come to New York to start a gypsy punk revolt
Now that it's rockin' so why don't I just go home?
Hey, chavorale, think locally
Hey, palo mande, fuck globally
Think locally
Fuck globally
I can't believe back home they failed to understand
That I am simply a chavo kind of man
Hey, chavorale, think locally
Hey, palo mande, fuck globally
Think locally
Fuck globally
And if the country we invented will fall from grace
I guess we'll have to fly away in our own space
Hey, chavorale, think locally
Hey, palo mande, fuck globally
Think locally
Fuck globally

Know any devs?
I reached out to the HiveDevs discord for some projects.
Will do. Thanks.
Hey man, I noticed you are not very active on Hive when it comes to making posts but you are very active commenting and engaging, I noticed you used Threads back in August '22 when it was still a rudimentary interface with many bugs.
Perhaps you want to give it another try now that there's a new interface now and Threads have improved a lot: https://alpha.leofinance.io
Thanks, I will check it out.
