DeepOnion - How Secure Is It?

in #deeponion7 years ago

How secure are you and your coins in the crypto world? Are your transactions completely anonymous in the crypto world? These are some of the primary concerns for all the investors in the crypto world and a complicated question to answer obviously. There are so many solutions to this problem, but which among them is the best one?

It is obvious that almost anyone would consider bitcoin due to its popularity and value, but even bitcoin transactions are not completely anonymous. Bitcoin transactions can be traced to the exchanges which you use where you provide your identification details(KYC documentation etc).

The question now is which coin can help mitigate this problem in this vast crypto space. The answer is DeepOnion which is a TOR based crypto-currency that utilizes the TOR browser to help users conduct completely anonymous transactions without the risk of getting exposed. What kind of mechanism does DeepOnion utilize to secure transactions anonymously? The answer is a multi-layered security model which is discussed below.

DeepOnion provides a multi-layered security model which utilizes the latest industry standards in Cryptography and Network Security to help provide absolute anonymity to users around the world. Basically, this model comprises of 4 layers:

  1. Transport Layer : The TOR protocol is integrated into this layer to help users conduct anonymous transactions without any form of hassle whatsoever. Everyone knows how powerful the TOR network can truly be which is why this is an excellent feature integrated into the DeepOnion project. However, the DeepOnion developers do not encourage anyone to utilize this coin to perform illegal activities(Dark Web).

  2. Protocol Layer: The protocol layer comprises of the Zero Knowledge protocols(Eg: ZeroCash, Zerocoin protocols) which help in obfuscating the origins of DeepOnion transactions in a manner in which only the sender would know about this. Adequate evidence will be provided here to show that the transaction did in fact occur. If you ask me, this is another big plus point with using DeepOnion to stay anonymous in the crypto world.

  3. Transaction Layer: The DeepSend technology functions on this layer and is one of the primary identifying features of this coin. It functions on a trust-less based multi-signature system to ensure that the transactions stay anonymous and has not been released yet currently, but will be released in the near future(Development is underway).

  4. Application Layer: This layer provides a collection of services like Smart Contracts(Will be implemented in the near future), DeepVault which is helps in securing your documents and files in an anonymous manner by saving the hashes of files, Decentralized exchanges like BISQ, marketplaces etc. Among these services, DeepVault has already been released and is being appreciated by people all around the world.

For reference:

All 4 of these layers function together to help users conduct online transactions in an absolutely anonymous manner which is clearly far more advantageous when compared to the mechanisms employed by more popular anonymous crypto coins like Bitcoin, Monero, Dash, Verge, Spectre etc.
