DeepOnion is an anonymity-based cryptocurrency that operates over the TOR network. DeepOnion will soon introduce a transaction obfuscation feature similar to coin mixing that will prevent transactions being trackable on the blockchain.
In my opinion, privacy based cryptocurrencies are the future, for the simple reason that your transactions should be private and visible to no one else. You wouldn't share your bank statement with anyone would you, so why would you want a publicly available blockchain ledger that details your entire history, the moment that you identify yourself to an individual or entity? For instance, the moment that you cash FIAT into BTC or viceversa through an exchange, there is a permanent record of your banking details and BTC account. Therefore, it is easy for the exchanges to report to the authorities your BTC wallet address which would enable simple tracking of your finances.
This is why coins such as Monero have risen to prominence over the years. The attraction of an anonymous service is exactly that, you want to remain anonymous and so you should, you have every right!
With Monero hitting the $50 mark at times, there is no reason that given the size of DeepOnion's community, the fact that we are going to implement a more robust, technologically advanced system as well as other features such as our DeepVault technology, there is no reason we cannot surpass this.
Mining is already extremely popular and this typically sets a baseline. With the large scale mining support that we see that is clearly coming from large mining farms there is a huge interest in DeepOnion.
My advise, join the airdrop, purchase all the cheap onions you can. Next year you'll be happy that you did!
