It sounds like you had a bit of a breakthrough during a time of introspection, Mira 🤗 Coming to terms with our past and finding a way to forgive ourselves is key to being able to move forward. Then we overcome our fears by denying them the power to control our behaviour. We learn that words do matter, but we don't have to empower the individuals who would disparage us just to see themselves rise on our downfall. We can recognise the individuals for who they are and then treat their utterances accordingly and not give them the strength to impact our lives negatively.
