Fighting has erupted across India over who was behind the tractor-forces that ransacked Delhi for four hours from noon to noon on Republic Day. Rakesh Tikait, a leader of a farmers' organization protesting against the agriculture bill, said those who carried out the riots, drove tractors to Lalkella and hung flags there, clashed with police were not members of their organization. He does not know who they are or where they came from. Because, the peasant organization thinks that there can be no alternative to peace. So they wanted to keep their protest peaceful.

Hamnan Mollah, a peasant leader from West Bengal, thinks it is a ploy by the Modi government in Delhi to discredit the peasant movement. Trying to impose responsibility on the peasant organization by infiltrating outsiders and making the movement violent. According to Navneet Singh, the 24-year-old farmer who died in an accident near ITO was not in the peasant movement. The agitating farmers, however, claimed that Navneet, a resident of the western part of Uttar Pradesh, had been shot dead by the police. Opposition groups across India have been accusing the Modi government of plotting to turn the farmers' tractor movement into violence.
