The gun debate got very interesting in the State of Georgia.
Delta Airlines joined the debate on the side of gun control by eliminating a discount to NRA memebers. This caused the state legislature to repond by doing away with a tax cut on jet fuel, a move that cost Delta $40 million.
Delta says onl 13 people took advantage of the NRA discount.
I will kill any tax legislation that benefits @Delta unless the company changes its position and fully reinstates its relationship with @NRA. Corporations cannot attack conservatives and expect us not to fight back.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian notified employees of the airline of the intention to stay neutal in the debate.
"While Delta's intent was to remain neutral, some elected officials in Georgia tied our decision to a pending jet fuel tax exemption, threatening to eliminate it unless we reversed course," Bastian said. "Our decision was not made for economic gain and our values are not for sale."

Delta is the largest employer in the State of Georgia, a state that has gun ownership at 31.6%.
The NRA and Georgia GOP legislators argued that Delta's elimination of the NRA discount amounted to a punishment for people who cherish the Second Amendment.

I was happy to see this. For the longest time, when ultra left fanatics haven't gotten their way, they have resorted to public shaming and boycotts to try to get their way. I'm glad traditional conservatives are showing that we can play that game as well. Examples include the backlash Keurig received when it loudly announced it was going to pull ads on Hannity, declining ratings for the Grammys and other shows celebrating the entertainment industry, and declining attendance at the box office, though Black Panther is a recent exception.
This loss of a valuable tax benefit should send a message that corporations should think twice before they get on their high horse and try to tell everyone else how to live.
From the looks of it.. Delta has been under pressure for the past few weeks to take a position on guns by the National Rifle Association and the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The students have come together with outraged survivors and victim's family members to reinvigorate the nation's gun control movement. They have taken advantage of their social media skills to pass on their message to NRA. And now it's no surprise that Delta took a stand to end the benefits and discounts for NRA members.
This is a huge step towards tightening the gun control policies. I believe at this pace, misuse of guns is going to be slashed by great a percentage very soon. Although it's hard to eliminate the risk of mass shootings, these few policies coming up will reduce the likelihood of such events. This has been a long time coming for innocent people that are always prone to getting attacked or victimised when these shootings occur.
I think that obviously Delta is free to make any decision that they want to. However, If they hate the NRA so much maybe they should get rid of the armed SkyMarshall's they rely on to keep their passengers safe. And it’s the Goverment who employs Air Marshalls, not NRA! For me The word Delta means 'Change'. I will be changing Airline's, Delta. Guns don't crash planes, but terrorists do.

Not that I would ever defend a corporation but it sounds like Delta got a raw deal.
It is tough for corporations to not be political...they get sucked in all the time. Sure there are some like FB which are intentionally political. But when a program is canceled so as not to be on one side or another is difficult.
$40M is a lot of jack to give up...
Have no fear, they will just raise the price of your bag on the plane...instead of $50 it will be $100.
I think this will be a very hard topic to discuss about. Some people support the idea of having guns and others do not. So, it's really hard to determine the side which will win this debate.
After all, in case the government bans gun control people will still have the guns in hands since they won't be ready to surrender them to the government.
On my view, the bush government did a mistake of allowing people to have guns. This has spoiled the humanity and everyone is now living in fear of what may come after.
The only idea about it is to sensitise the people about the use of guns and risk of caring and using a gun. This may cause people to have more knowledge about the use of the gun and may be choose to bring them back to the government since they will need to reduce the risk of falling into something unpleasant to the community.

He Illegally, personally, orchestrated the cancellation of a retirement plan that was 1.5 Billion underfunded: by SPENDING 5 Billion in bribes to special interests who could block the cancellation, in order to get it cancelled. Got the CEO job as a reward! That tells you all you need to know about this dipshit, and the Delta Board of Directors. Screw the stockholders (and the workers) is his motto. Make no mistake: Bastain's only principle is Bastain!

How is trying to stay neutral in the debate 'Political Correctness?' For that matter, why don't we just define the fact that both sides have issues in their stance that are 'politically correct.' On the right, its is PC to support the NRA no matter what. Therefore, Delta has been politically incorrect from the right wing point of view. As far as costs, let's see if the campaign contributions from Delta to some of the candidates that demanded them to be right wing PC don't dry up. I wonder if the NRA will step in a make up for the money the pols don't get.
Dumbest thing ever...politicians used to hide their affiliations, at least a little bit. But, now they don't have to anymore and can be complete dicks based upon who's giving them the most money. When are we going to start a party that does stuff for us? Indiegogo campaign? Title it, 'how to save the world from asshole politicians?'
13 people taking advantage of that program is way more than will decide to book a flight with them because they support gun control, not to mention the $40 million. This is a just another stupid blunder like Dicks

For sure delta has been under the turmoil for past few weeks. Yet they are free to take any decision. However it was quite obvious that delta would take away the benefits and the credits that were provided to the NRA. This could be a brave decision as it could restrict up the gun control policy which indeed could lead to less shooting victims. But i personally not every NRA is a terrorist and could be unlucky for the NRA students.
