Going forward into the age of robotics and likely new post capitalist economic models, governance could become an industry of its own and participation through voting, sitting on committees, etc. could be rewarded. Bring the experts forward to explain things to the citizens voting upon it; yet a multi-tiered democracy is not an attractive thought, to me, as a form of direct democracy.
