It seems that Derrick Rose might sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason. This sounds insane, but it’s the kind of move a team makes when it doesn’t have a general manager. So many questions come to mind. Have things gotten so grim that this is GM LeBron James’s desperate final grasp to strengthen the Cavs roster?
They have no money or assets, so the cheap player that Derrick Rose is looks to be their best way to go at this point. Rose and Irving both play the same position, however the Cavaliers have not been clear about a possible lineup. Could LeBron actually be considering flipping Kyrie for a wing player and acquiring Derrick Rose as a downgrade of a point guard? This seemed like it would be a throwaway season for the Cavaliers if that were to happen.
He would be coming off the bench if he signed. Having a dude that averaged 18 ppg last year coming off the bench on the veteran's minimum is a steal. The Cavs have very little assets and moves to make, so I think its a good move overall.
Yes, I agree. Derrick Rose would improve the Cavaliers bench. One of the reasons why the Warriors are so good is because of their bench players.
I m not sure he will be enough to beat Steph C. and co. but Go Cavs
I agree with you on that note. Even with the addition of Derrick Rose, the Cavaliers still won't have enough fire power to beat the Warriors.
