In the automobile everyone dreams of driving in Ferrari. But it is necessary to quickly get to the evidence and get to the idea that the Twingo finally is not bad when you have to make the check and then you go to the pump ...
Very few of us can afford this luxury and I think it's even more true in boating.
Here, when one enters the categories referring to Italian supercars, one no longer dreams to dream because the dream is hardly reachable even on the market? of the occasion ...
This is why I propose a tour of the "Plebeian owner" of the cream of the cream in sailing pleasure made in France: the CNB76.
CNB (Bordeaux Naval Construction), is the Semi-custom and One-Off entity of the Bénéteau Group, world leader in sailboat construction.
The Bénéteau Group is a French group based in the Vendée. For once we are a leader in something, it is good to point out.
The CNB76 is part of a fleet of semi-custom yachts ranging from 60 to 94 feet (the Superyachts division is capable of producing vessels up to 180 feet).
Each sailboat is thus customizable to reflect the vision of its future owner.
The first impression one feels when seeing the CNB76 is a sensation of excess. It is still 23m long and 6.10m to master bau.
The other units look pale beside this elegant mastodon.
On the stand everything is refinement and sobriety.
Once the overshoes are strung, we meet on a huge deck called Flush deck, that is to say without interruption from the bow to the stern.
All the elements of fittings are integrated with perfection and the attention of the detail is pushed very far like a magnificent fern coming to magnify the bridge in Teak.
Even deck boards are flush.
The solid teak rubs the carbon. This boom called "canoe" is magnificent. It allows a space saving when the main sail is loosened. You will notice the detail of the connection between the boom and the halebas, also made of carbon. (oblique arm)
The cockpit is an invitation to idleness, with an ingenious automated system to make a huge sunbath instead of the meal table.
Farniente which will be decorated with fresh drinks since a refrigerator is available under the bench.
As the visit progresses, we realize the attention to detail that makes this unit an exceptional boat. Here a close-up on the handle of the door of the descent which completely enters the ground.
But for a ne ophyte, the interior puts everyone in agreement.
No need to know the language of sailing to appreciate the luxury that reigns under the bridge.
The designer Jean-Marc Piston projects us into a cozy interior for six guests and four crew members (two skippers in the front tip and two people for service in the cabin adjoining the kitchen).
The philosophy applied by the designer here is to have a monolithic element entirely covered with veneer, thus keeping all the exteriors as light as possible in order to offer a sensation of space to the visitor, amplified by indirect lighting.
A clever system can also transform a two-seater sofa into a kind of modern boudoir, allowing at the same time to have the bar.
The cabins look like four-star hotel rooms with the omnipresent oak veneer, polished stainless steel mirror touches, lacquer and even leather.
The bathroom also transports us in a completely different world than that of sailing.
Apart from the sloping walls and the deck hatch, nothing could make us imagine being in a boat.
From the living spaces of the owners to the kitchen, everything is treated here with the same sobriety.
A small detail that makes its effect, the hatch allows the service personnel whose cabin is seen on the right, to prepare meals outside without having to go through the descent of the lounge.
Here ends a quick tour in a boat one of the maxims of Steve Jobs could summarize the philosophy: "To make simple is more difficult than to make complicated. "
