I recently traveled to Taiwan and had some of this delicious shaved ice cream from Ice Monster restaurant. I liked it because they used ripe and flavorful mango. Even though it looks like a lot of ice cream, the big mound is more like mango-flavored fluff.
This next beauty is from McDonalds - now I know what you're thinking, how could I go there of all places!? Well sometimes you just crave a cheeseburger! And the plus was definitely this ice cream. My favorite was the little chocolate wafer, but i was NOT a fan of the jello hunks; they were just chewy flavorless gel pieces. I'm also not sure what that powdery chocolate stuff was, but overall a descent low budget dessert.
Next up, cake! Now in Taiwan they serve cake with a tiny little 2-pronged fork. It is about the size of a toothpick, so you can just imagine eating a piece of cake with a toothpick that forks into 2. It is so frustrating to take tiny little bites that you default to not eating a very big portion... I wonder if i could make money off of this idea by starting the dieting fad in the US of eating dessert with a toothpick..
Iced Coffee! I had my fill of bubble tea while in Taiwan, but when I saw Iced Coffee on the menu I had to try it. I have to say the presentation never lacks in Taiwan. I was served a tray with a small jug of iced coffee and then a separate glass and little milk container. Give this one a 10 out of 10.
So this fits more into the candy category maybe, but I have to say these Koalas stuffed with strawberry are where its at. Most if not all of these are imported - BUT there is no Strawberry filled Oreos where I live!
Last one! This was an ice cream roll-up stuffed with nuts that were shaved off of a block of nuts held together with honey. In the picture you can see a kind of flat sweet bread and then the shaved nutts. Basically they put a chunk of chocolate ice cream in the center and roll it up like a burrito. Walking ice cream without a cone - awesome!
These were the desserts that I tried when I was in Taiwan :) I noticed that a lot of these are cold desserts, probably because it is super hot and humid in Taiwan. Hope you enjoyed reading!
