I've been here several times mentioning that among Americans there are people who are often crazy. And all the time for me it seems like such a statement sounds unfounded. For a bit of this impression, I'll talk about my neighbor. An extraordinary man, who did not stop amazing me with his unusual behavior and way of life.
One of the neighbors, we quickly dubbed "wizards". The reason is the specific dress code (even by American standards). In winter and summer, he wears a brightly colored broad hat and is supported by a tough staff. Also, with a magician, there is always a trolleys full of little things. The wizard does not move light, and from there its movement around the environment always happens very slowly and noisy.
The wizard is very talkative. There was no such person whom he would not meet at the meeting with long regards and long observations about the weather. I am not a great hunter before the conversation, so for a long time I have answered the Wizard with just a smile. If you join him in a conversation, then getting rid of him will not be easy.
Simply skilled Wizard can translate any topic into his own musical talent. It was as if he had inadvertently realized that he could play the flute, and immediately in confirmation his words pulled the pipe out of his pocket. After learning that I was from Russia, the witch had once played me "the famous Russian melody." I thank the musician, although I can not find the motive. There seems to be no motive there. Just a random noise coming from a toy tool.
Magicians love to communicate not only with people, but also with animals. Every night right outside our window he spoke to the birds. Of course, in their language. Mostly with crows. The wizard can be loud and gurgle loudly for 10-15 minutes. Though hoarse a little like the sounds emitted by birds, crows respond to Wizard calls and peacefully echo them. Pause music like that would be nice, if not for one "but": their boring daily routine.Even the most unusual things can become boring as time passes.
In general, the Wizard is a madman who is quite dangerous, and when his behavior contradicts the public norm, he is dismissed with respect. For example, several times I see the Wizard eating at the supermarket: where the finished product is lying, and everyone can pack themselves a little in the box to weigh and punch at the cash register. A special inscription warns that food is not to be tasted. But of course he did not stop the Wizard.
And then I have to say that Wizard is a very old and very sturdy person. His movements were rough and awkward. When he eats at the supermarket, he is not secretive, rude, but, on the contrary, rude, intentional and even a bit odd. She scooped up the food, as if nothing had embarrassed her, and spilled most of it into her loose clothing. At the same time, the Wizard loudly nags and does not stop talking to other people.
I can not say that the Wizard is an unpleasant or disgusting person. Such people are indispensable to liquefy a monotonous and boring human mass. However, when I see the Wizard moving slowly toward our entrance and how hard it is to miss it, I usually turn and go through the back door, along the fire escape. The blessing in American homes has always provided such a possibility.
With all the external signs, it can be assumed that the Wizard is completely unadapted to life. The madman of the city who was miraculously fortunate enough to have shelter above his head. It looks like he's not working, and he spends most of his time staggering. Where he takes his livelihood is a mystery. However, with enviable regularity, I see at the entrance of the parcel of the "Amazon" left in its name. So the Wizard is sure that he has online shopping and has a really modern way of life. In other words, he spends most of it on the Internet.
Looking at the magician, I sometimes think about how well people you can find individuals like this here.
