I come here as an interloper. For many years I have tried to learn the German language. Finally, I have given up trying (blame it on age). I am content to understand enough of it to make sense out of pieces, but for true accuracy I now depend on Deepl Translator. Obviously, I think the language is beautiful or I wouldn't have spent so much effort in trying to master it.
I'll just make one modest comment about your desire to preserve language. My view of language is that it changes with use. It's like a living thing. People take it, throw around carelessly and somehow new language evolves. But my chosen field of study is history, so I tend to take the long view on everything.
However, I think you will be amused by one sentence that came up in Deepl when I translated your blog. The sentence:
In gleicher Weise wird mit den Synonymen dennoch, gleichwohl, nichtsdestotrotz, dessen ungeachtet etc. verfahren.
is translated
In the same way, synonyms are used nevertheless, nevertheless, nevertheless, nevertheless, etc.
I think that's so funny and shows how literal translation robs language of subtlety. There's a reason those synonyms exist. There's nuance a native speaker will understand. But the person using translation device loses all of that.
Hope you don't mind a perspective that is a bit far afield from the intent of your blog. I do love the language.
