Today we continue with fresh apples.
I made a first attempt at apple pie and think the apples still need some time to ripen properly.
The cake here is a classic shortcrust made of flour, butter, sugar, egg and a pinch of salt and the crumble is made of flour, butter and sugar.
Very tasty but still lacks a bit of sweetness.
The apples are not quite ripe yet, although there was a lot of water, but the sun was missing a bit.
I think in a fortnight it will be time to harvest.
This variety has to be processed quickly and most of the apples go to the fruit collection centre.
In return, I get a reduced juice quota.
That is usually enough for a whole year to buy more juice.
