I pretty much agree. I have been here for three years and have seen many people leave - people that were heavily involved in helping new people succeed. STeem/Hive is known that you have to suck up to the right people or you will stay relatively unsuccessful.
To comments:
people have done initiatives in the past to increase comments and earned themselves the ire of witnesses - saying that it clutters up the blocks, cost too much...
I am glad that there are some whales that are reaching outside their little circle and are upvoting some of the smaller accounts - but for the most part, the club is exclusive and will stay that way. They have no incentive to change and don't care about the content creators. That has been made clear many times...

I am with you. To solve the problems, we need interacting with the bigger accounts for change their mind, why the saw on their own branch in a longtherm scenario. We should not stop to try makeing better what we can do. I know it is hard, but i see, it is possible too.

This is such a long and ongoing story and so far, there are very few of the big boys (and most if not all of them are male), most of them just don't care. They have said plenty of times that the only ones they care about the big stakeholders.
But miracles might happen...
