What do you think of the service?
Super cool and thoughtful initiative that'll reward your audience just according to how good and enticing their comments seem. I really give ovation to the brain behind this feature @steem-bounty, I'll tell you why he deserves the ovation.
With this feature, the reward from the bounty wouldn't be limited only to people that comment. Indirectly, any post with the bounty tag will draw a large audience and more interest—face it, that's a huge chances of big payout. So why you are rewarding your readers, your generosity somehow pays you back. Isn't that something great and mutual?
What i would love to change
While the bounty feature alligns almost so perfectly, i think the 80/20 needs some adjustment. 60/40 will be more balanced and unbiased. My reasons are, a comment may be appealing to the creator based on sentiments but may not be that good, invariably that comment gets rewarded more than a better comment that doesn't agree with the creator. If it's true that quality gets rewarded more here on this platform, then a 60/40 will reflect it more.
Apart from the above, the feature is SUPERB. 👌
Yes this ratio was something we thought of a lot. There are two aspect here that we were thinking about:
Abuse. If the community part is large then its easier for spammers and cheaters with a little SP to abuse and get a big piece of the reward, especially when the creator of the bounty does not have much SP.
How much control do people want to have when they send the funds. We assumed that people would want to be able to decide more how the rewards are being distributed.
Later we will allow users to chose the distribution. We are working on getting the website up, and then more features will come after that. We appreciate the feedback!!!
You have a strong reason on the issue of Abuse. Assuming one makes a comment under a bounty-bound content, it's withing the realm of possibility for them to copy the link of the comment and distribute to their friends, soliciting for their votes. I understand better now. Thanks for the explanation...I'll try this out soon, for now my wallet is weak to give out such fund.
