Ah, perhaps it depends. Either you make the meme yourself or you copy it from anywhere. Then you can link that source. But who knows if that "source" is the original creator of the meme...

that's the point :) and if we now go one step ahead. Tenor and other gif databases are also not the creators and I'm sure they don't know :)
And another step forward, I'm 100% sure there is nobody that owners the right of the pictures where the meme is built on. In most countries accept by law.
That makes it IMO impossible to credit someone.

I think all steps alone are close to valueless :D
I mean i love to post memes, but not all memes and headlines are funny. So if i look over i select the (IMO) funny ones.
