I Need A Job, And Update On Mixion

in #dev7 years ago

So this is just a random post I'm writing in the bar. Oh and guess what, I'm writing it with Mixion, an app that I created.

I need a job

I haven't had too much luck getting a job as an Android developer, I guess the primary reason is because there is not too much demand for this skill in the current City that I'm in. That means that the few open positions out there are extremely competitive and so far I've gotten 5 rejections all saying the same thing while we were impressed with your accomplishments we decide to move forward with a different candidate that best meets our needs for today yea I get, most companies prefer to hire someone that has professional experience and not just a guy that can get the work done.

update on the developer life

I've been working a lot on Mixion for the past two months, but if you've seen my GitHub over the past week, I haven't done much work into it. This reason is tied to above, in my city there's a lot more demand for full-stack developers. So while I've been developing for Android using kotlin, I've recently began exploring new technologies such as Ruby on rails but I honestly wasn't to much of a fan of that. So I'm currently playing around with React and GraphQL and, oh man, I love these. Over the past week I took a deep dive into these that I haven't had any time to work on Mixion. I've used GraphQL before and it's awesome, but now being able to create the entire GraphQL server from scratch is amazing.

update on Mixion

I'm not going to abandon Mixion, there are still a lot features missing that I wish it had and that I know are not too difficult to implement but only time consuming. For example

  1. Drafts - I want a draft to be saved if I'm not ready to post and leave the app or navigate elsewhere
  2. Commenting - I want to comment on other people's comments or posts directly from Mixion
  3. Upvoting - be able to upvote while I'm on the feed or directly reading the post.
  4. Transfers - I want to transfer SBD or steem directlyb from Mixion.

As a matter of fact, these features are not too complicated to integrate since they are already supported by SteemJ, the library I'm using for mixion, they just all require some time. Hopefully I can get things working soon.

p.s. this was a drunken post
