Being slow probably/ arguably depends on use case.

Hive only ticks every 3 seconds. That's slow. DOOM has a tickrate of 35/s.
DOOM is more than 100 times faster than Hive. Hive would be too slow for an FPS.

What about Kafka and DynamoDB for event messaging and local storage?

No idea. I use SQL and Redis.

And I need to read your previous posts in the series.
