I also work with flutter. I have been noticing the “Program linking failed” error message popping up more often since I switched from genymotion to the AVD. That being said, it still lets me do hot reloading even with the latest version of VSCode and I am still able to do ctr+f5 for a hot restart as well. There are small moments when it will stutter on a hot reload though so perhaps ill also have to downgrade if the problem continues.

Thanks! The good news is, this issue would be fixed in the next update. I don't know about the "program linking failed" issue though. That seems like a different issue altogether.
