Exodus 15:17 NIV
You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance---the place, Lord, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, Lord, your hands established.
God destroyed the Egyptian army and so guaranteed their deliverance and their freedom.
In our lives many of us can testify of the freedom that we have in Christ and how God has delivered us from challenges and difficult circumstances.
From the verse that we read today about the Israelites and their freedom we can see some characteristics of own freedom.
Firstly the freedom we get is permanent, God says he will "plant them on a mountain" so in all the victories, changes and challenges that are overcome he is saying that it is not temporary but a freedom that is only looking forward.
The freedom we have and have been given is with a purpose in mind. Freedom is for us to have the "inheritance" or the"heritage" . To accomplish the task that God has for us in his kingdom.
The freedom we have is in order for us to be able to "dwell" in the "sanctuary". To be close and intimate with God. He sets us free so that we can close or closer to him.
Today as a young person understand , enjoy and give thanks for the freedom we have given.
A freedom that is permanent, with a purpose and with an intimacy with God.
