Today's Scripture
For a prostitute can be had for a loaf of bread, but another man’s wife preys on your very life. Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? (Proverbs 6:26-28)

Thoughts for Today
Every action in life comes with consequences. Everything we do to others, it will somehow create a reaction in return. In the bible, there is a law that is called the Law of Harvest.

Do not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:7-8

So before we decide to be unkind to someone, think about how our actions would create consequences for us in the future.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

Sometimes we experience a difficult situation in our lives, people treated us unjustly and it can be tempting for us to respond in an ungodly manner. Suddenly we feel like talking bad about them or taking revenge on them. This is our natural fleshly reaction. But that is not what we are supposed to do as children of God. Jesus told us to love our enemies. Do good to those who wronged you.

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44)

If we choose to sow in the flesh, we will reap destruction. The bible says. So what is the work of the flesh?

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We desire to be more like you. We want to walk in your spirit and not in the flesh. We choose to crucify our fleshly nature on that cross. We want to live in the Spirit. Help us to walk in your truth. Show us your mercy and grace. We ask this in Your Precious Name, Jesus. Amen!
