Today's Scripture
Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent. She is unruly and defiant her feet never stay at home; now in the street, now in the squares, at every corner she lurks. She took hold of him and kissed him and with a brazen face she said: (Proverbs 7:10-13)
Thoughts for Today
The media plays an important role in not only educating us but also influencing us, creating a culture and a way of life. The way our society behaves is reflected through the influence of what we see on the television. The media not only fashions our mind but also the way we think about this world.
As a Christian, we should not let this ungodly ideology sink deep within us. They may be rooted in our mind and bare unhealthy fruits that will be reflected in our character or behavior. Therefore, we need to continually renew our mind with the word of God.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you for your word that refreshes our soul and renews our mind. We ask for your forgiveness if we have allowed any bad seed to spout within us and to bare fruits of unrighteousness. Holy Spirit leads us and guide us that we may be fruits of the spirit instead of fruits of the flesh which in the end will lead to destruction and death. We ask this in Your Precious Name, Jesus. Amen!
