I just wanted to give you a little insight into why I'm talking about the work I'm doing on @v4vapp for a somewhat technical audience but not fully shouting about it for the wider audience yet.

Below are the counts of streaming Lightning payments which my dapp has sent to a few Hive users over the last 72 hours which include payments to @theycallmedan @scottcbusiness @meremortals @decentracast @bil.prag @the-bitcoin-dood. This post is in part an explanation to these people in case you didn't know why you were getting flooded with micropayments!
Right now I'm sending one Hive payment for every Lightning invoice I receive.

If you want to look at a block explorer like the one from @ausbitbank, you can see every one of these payments on the account of @v4vapp. Right now I'm sending these messages unencrypted, that may change.
But having run the system for a few days it's pretty apparent that I need to batch these payments. This will get super annoying for a big podcaster if they're receiving thousands of these messages a day.
So first thing on Sunday I'll be hard at work re-organising things to make sure I send far fewer messages (but the same overall value) and try to communicate the minutes listened by the audience.
I hope it helps for people to see a little of what goes on behind the scenes when something like @v4vapp is being built.

This may sound embaressing but where do I veriffy my rss feed from @threespeak in order to add it to v4v.app?
It says veriffy with some email from 3speak, but where do I use this email, I never recived messages on 3speak I think.

Hi I was just trying to send you a message but keychain on my phone didn't send it!
The v4v.app site is old and part of an early experiment and I need to remove it 😎 right now you don't need to do anything for a 3speak feed! Sats will come to you without you doing anything.

BEER.it could maybe be one transaction for minutes playing and separate for boosts. at the moment i think only two of us are using it :D but if you get 10-100 people on one podcast that will be a lot of transactions for podcaster and also for the valu4value account.
the simplicity of how this work, at least for me as already a hive user is really good.
Yes I'm going to do one for boosts and then combine any payments up until we get a gap of 5 minutes. I'll try that for now.

I notice that you set it the vale on the sats side and it does the conversion to hive on the fly. Cause it looks like Hive went up slightly. The first several payments were .06 and the last bunch have been .07. This is amazing tech!
BTW thanks for using me as a guinea pig. I heard you mentioned that you were going to be doing this to a few people. I didnt want to be that one kid in school thats jumped up and down frantically in the seat waving my arms going "Pick me, Pick me, Pick me" lol!

Technically, after experimenting with a few feeds we just went and tuned it on for all 3speak creators! I just haven't told everyone 😎 but if any @threespeak show is watched in an appropriate app the owner will get the Hive!
Yes I'm doing real time conversion. I think I will be taking a 3% cut but right now I think that's a rounding error and not being applied.
Batching a block of payments is essential. Even in Sats, 8 sats a minute is causing issues on the Lightning side with too many sats going missing in routing fees. Those aren't a problem on Hive but we are down at the rounding limit.
What I mean by rounding error is that trying to take 3% of 8 sats results in me taking well below 0.001 Hive so I actually take nothing. Not that 3% doesn't matter.
i am the cheap one sending 10 sats per minute :D still can't get the feeling for how much sats are worth :D

Yes to listening stats. And that is part of a huge discussion on the future of Podcasting.
I hope I can fix and deploy batch payments on Sunday. Critical I think.
did not even though about it but pay per minute can be a used in statistics. especially in podcasting where you don't get a lot of stats.
