The @hive-woodpeckers was founded in July 2024 with the aim of teaching disadvantaged kids in my area in the United Kingdom about wood working and the joys that it can bring.
This project is completely self funded by me and any donations that I can drum up. The Hive community have been an amazing community so far and have been helping me to raise vital funds to buy new equipment and materials for the kids to use while they are in the workshop.
Here is the introduction post from July The Hive-Woodpeckers Introduction Post
You can check out the other bits that we have been doing on the page as well.
My commitment to Hive and the Community
Along with regular posts about our activities, I promote Hive and it's benefits as a platform to all that I meet through this program.
To date I have managed to onboard 1 of my users, 2 parents and 1 of the coordinators from the Charity group that has been supporting us. Over $200 of fresh money has entered Hive through these 4 and I plan to push on further.I have also taken part in 2 Crypto learning evenings at a local School and College. Giving a talk on Hive and it's amazing benefits. Across the 89 people across that attended these 2 evenings, sadly none of them had heard of Hive. This has now changed and next year I will be going back for another chat with the Lecturer about trying to get Hive into these groups more. This is still a massive work in progress. I have not included these users into my onboarding as I am unsure how many signed up to Hive or how much $ they put in. So for now I am content that Hive is potentially going to be spoken about more. After the New Year I will try to get a figure on how many signed up from the Lecturer.
I will be in person at Charity events to try to drum up donations and funding for our group. This will allow me to discuss Hive with potential new users and donators. The Hive community was technically our first funding supporter so they get a pride of place on our physical leaflets and signs at these events.
We will be creating Hive branding pieces such as wooden signs for the workshop for people to see. If possible, I would like to get some Apron's/PPE with the Hive logo on them for further promotion of the Hive chain.
The DHF funding request and what I plan to do with Those Funds
I would like to request that if the Hive community finds us a well deserving group to support, that you vote for us and pass our proposal.
I am asking for 10HBD in funding. This is solely to cover my costs for submitting the proposal.
Why am I creating a proposal?
I wanted to get more eyes onto the project and reach out to more of the Hive community that I haven't managed to reach yet. This seemed like a great way to do it.
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask me.
Thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to read over this proposal and I'll hopefully see you around on chain over the coming months.
It looks interesting, I have given you my support, I hope everything goes well and your proposal is approved.
I am a random without power, who wishes you the best 😀
Many thanks for the support.
I appreciate this alot.
Appreciate the support man
I didn't know how long to put it for so just did the 60 days 🤠
good luck man!
Ok
Does this mean I may have persuaded you?
Proposals votes are visible :p
If I'm honest, I haven't looked.
I was going to wait until it actually started before I looked.
It's a bit of a nervous ask.
Thank you for this initiative!
Happy to support it, but tbh hoped you asked for more than just the funds for covering the proposal, so you can mean something for more kids.
I didn't want to be a drain on the DHF if I am honest.
10 hbd to me seems a fair ask in the grand scheme of things.
If this gets passed and enough support for the project and are willing to offer more help.
Then that could be a further proposal I suppose.
I didn't want to come across as greedy you see.
I like your efforts and $600 is a fair ask where we can test the viability of this method without taking a large financial risk.
Thankyou very much for your support on this.
I appreciate it a lot.
I am asking for 10 hbd, not $600.
Have I not worded this proposal correctly?
Nice to see. Great work.
