An unexpected flight

in #diary6 years ago

As the lack of posting on my account might tell you, I have been busy riding my bike around all over the --- lounge room at Mummi and Pappa's place. When the weather is a little better, I am going outside with it and riding off into the sunset like a... umm... postman?

Oh, you want to hear some crazy??

This weekend is another normal Daddy/ Daughter weekend and today (and yesterday) we went off together for coffee. There is a shopping center that we frequent that has a playground that I enjoy a fair bit and after eating and drinking in a cafe, Daddy and I went there to play. It is indoor so shoes are left in these little boxes at the entrance.

So, Daddy and I were playing along there and I was sliding on the slippery dip while Daddy talked to an old client and also a friend of his who happened to be there. We were there pretty late and things were closing up and we decided to leave and guess what?!?

Someone had taken one of my shoes... I thought at first it was probably Lowly worm from the Richard Scarry books (and how cool would it be to have your shoe stolen by lowly worm) but, a little girl came in and said that it wasn't stolen, it got thrown over a railing. When we looked, sure enough, there it was.... two floors down. My poor shoe!!!!

But, what kind of person does that and, by the height of the railing it wasn't a short person like myself. Maybe the little girl who conveniently saw it?

Well, this meant that Daddy had to carry me around looking like a shoeless hobo until we were able to get to my poor little (newly learned to fly) pink kick. You can see both of them pictured together in the photo above. It is pretty ridiculous though that *anyone would do such a thing to such a small little shoe.

Some people have no manners.

Speaking of shoes, yesterday I was wearing my other sneakers that I think are getting a little squeezy for me and I might have to look for more. I love those shoes though as they are so light and flexible and I can move so fast in them. So many of the kids shoes are made for people with wooden legs and mine are mostly jelly.

I only wear shoes outside of course as inside I like to pretend I am a cavegirl because it matches my diet and usually.. my hair too. My hair is growing really fast and I can't wit to let it free (under my helmet) as I ride my bike down the largest hill I can find in Finland.

Oh, Mummi taught me how to ride my new bike super quickly and I have a video of it, but Daddy needs to convert it over or some such nonsense before I can upload it. It is a pretty cool way to teach a kid though. Of course, I still have training wheels as.. I am only 2 and 7 months old - so cut me some slack. I think I will get that video up at some point to teach others, even though I am much better now than when it was filmed.

Well, I think I should get some rest because tomorrow is Mummi and Pappa care day and they require a lot of my time. At least I can go to bed knowing that my shoe is safe and sound in the cupboard.

I will try not to be a stranger though, as some people say you shouldn't talk to strangers and that would make life boring if no one talked to me.

Oh babe! like a shoeless hobo? Hahahaha I've been looking like that for a good while in my whole life. So, you have nothing to worry about, sweety.

Oh ¡Wait! ...you've just said your shoes are pink? Oh! Oh! then, now you are really in serious troubles little girl!! :)

It is too cold in Finland to be shoeless unless staying inside in bed 24/7. In the summer on the beach shoes just get in the way though.

Yes darling, I understand you. And to protect yourself from the cold tell your dad to lend you the outfit I sent him some time ago to match your flying pink shoes. :)

The bike is at Mummi and Pappa's place at the moment, I think it should be on the way home though so Daddy and I can ride along together... oh, Daddy doesn't own a bike. He can sit on my handlebars.

Least you wear shoes when you're out and about. Perhaps you should have words with @shadowlioncub sometime, he's 8 years older than you and I sometimes have to really fight with him to wear shoes, he hates wearing them so much, even when I try to find ones that are comfortable for him XD

Glad you found your other shoe! Perhaps it was someone who wanted to learn about gravity, one of the easiest ways to do this just by dropping and throwing things, but you know some adults are really, really weird and just don't let their kids drop or throw things at home, or even play ball with them :O and so they have to learn about gravity by throwing anything they can get hold of, which unfortunately in this case seems to have been your poor shoe.

And some people just have zero impulse control.

Have fun riding your bike and hope you find some amazing new shoes that are light and flexible aren't so squeezy :)

You should totally talk to strangers, how else are you supposed to make friends? Just follow Daddy's lead there, he seems to be pretty good at peopling :)

Bring him to Finland and he will put some shoes on lickety split. Cold toes are no fun.

I drop things all the time and think it is hilarious! I am pretty good at throwing too. I think someone was just jelly of my cute shoes.

He encourages me. The trick he says is to learn creeper from friend early, and if that creepy feeling arrives, leave.

That was so rude of that person to throw find your shoe thrown over the railing.

Lots of folks say you shouldn't talk to strangers. I think it is okay to talk to strangers; just make sure that mummy or daddy or someone else you trust is around, and never, ever trust a stranger unless your parents say it is okay. When you get older and stronger, talking to strangers and even trusting them a little will get less and less dangerous. It's all part of growing up!

Another thing about strangers is, sometimes they !sneeze on you. That can be inconvenient and rude.

Daddy thinks the trick is to help kids learn how to read people and listen to instinct for danger. Safe zones for learning though as there are a lot of freakers out there off of Steem.

I think she threw it too...

I am sick all the time too... Gesundheit

The case of the mysterious flying shoe. I glad it was recovered and reunited with it's friends, you, and the other shoe.

I was quite young when i looked round to find my daddy smiling at me 20 feet away when I thought he was holding on to the back of my bike seat. I think I crashed soon after :)

Mine has a special handle on the back to push me along when I am relaxing on the ride up hills. I will have to show you how it is done in style .
