the state of the digital nomad union: a reflective update from the pub.

it’s hard to believe that it’s been five months since @dayleeo got here — time has literally flew and it’s only a month or so before she goes back again, we shared some good times, battled through other times, had some incredible luck and faulted in a few places, all in all thou really not a bad way to spend the last six months adapting with the times.

whenever change is due we can have this overwhelming swing of energy due, like we gotta get things done and dusted, put things in to place — today has ended up being one of those days.

which was weird because i never woke up like that but i had a stack of weird dreams and well we ended up having to get a few buses just to pick up amazon stuffs from different towns, some days you just have to go with whatever the universe throws at you — early march and it’s coming in hot.

so. many. choices.

let’s just start by saying that we are both in a better situation than we were six months ago. we have the blockchain to thank for that, big time, seriously you have been awesome, the people here awesome, the feedback and conversations we had in portugal, it was all inspiring AF and while a bunch of projects were put on hold to recalibrate we are both of a sounder mind, better than we found each other for sure.

with dayle heading home because of the max time period it means i’ll be heading over to the states i’m guessing leading up to christmas to meet family and to try out some food places no doubt, on this side of the pond things get a bit harder in terms of money for accommodation but i feel i’m in a better mental space to make moves if i need too — i can’t afford what i’m currently doing myself so there is that.

electric cars have been throwing a spanner in the works where it comes to making moves about my smart transportation and looking at the next upgrade in general, i feel like i CANT go for something petrol or diesel purely because it does not make sense in the long term and if i’m just making short term moves then i’m adding to the problem.

i’d be better off not having any transportation and instead using public transport to get around, it’s not like i need to go many places anyway in the short term and i’ve been buying the kit to enable me to do what i love more everyday, when it’s just me i’m just up and in front of that screen believe.

feels like we are coming up to a crossroads in the next month time, we are gonna have to make some decisions on both sides as to what happens next based on the reality of what we have and where we would both like to be, where we are staying and how we build up the resources to level up.

the first pint is nearly done, on a tuesday as well. feels like i’m having a cheat day on a school day, i remember this town when i was 17, tempting fate and sneaking in the pub with my older mates, important years.

think it’s pizza time and then back on the bus, i need to record tonight ideally as i’ve got a post to go out. we are gonna be streaming together in the next few weeks before everything starts to become really real so i guess we will be having that conversation public as well.

i’m very thankful everyday to still be here and while it’s effected me greatly not seeing my daughter this last weekend subcouciously i’m just happy that all of us are healthy and striving for betterment of our mental health everyday, only then, can we be activated to help those around us.

Would something like this be an option? https://steemit.com/life/@alanfreestone/i-ve-bought-a-van-2e3a11b4bfd6e She's a beaut & quite a lot of space for one/two people . Apparently 40mpg if driven with a gentle foot.

I'm busy plotting the interior right now. Some just buy an old caravan & swap the interior into a van, but I hate the weird materials they use in caravans.

I don't understand english. But I'm cheering for you. I live in myanmar. I need help.I study. I'll try my best.

i’m very thankful everyday to still be here and while it’s affected me greatly not seeing my daughter this last weekend subconsciously i’m just happy that all of us are healthy and striving for betterment of our mental health everyday, only then, can we be activated to help those around us.

It's tough to keep this frame of mind constantly for me.

My daughter is in the UK and growing up fast, I left the UK 2 years ago as my mental health was suffering. One of the reasons being the reduced weekend contact with my girl as parties/swimming/karate/friends were starting to fill her life. Sitting in the same city but waiting for the chance to see her was too much, and so I'm here in Mallorca waiting for the 'ok' for a visit in a month or two.

Even though we last met on the best of terms, that lingering feeling of 'do she still think about me' is always there, and some days it is overpowering. I'm here a lot because of that I think, trying to do good deeds and keep myself busy.

But yes, she's healthy, I'm healthier, and this is something positive to hold.

Cheers.

i hear you, really i do. life is cruel at times as to the whys and it's stuff we don't talk about at times. i've got my daughter coming today for overnight, i try and make the most of it -- i hear about you when you say about parties and all that, she goes to more things than i ever did as a kid and i'm happy she's around people -- maybe i assume it's not always the right people but then she's got her own mind and can ask me questions whenever she wants if she ever feels anxious about anything -- that's all we can do as dads, love our children as much as we can.

of course your daughter thinks about you man, it's biological. that never leaves. ever.

the keeping busy is fine as long as you are keeping mentally sane and celebrating life by trying to carve some level of future for her too, even if it's just to put something aside, advice, words, money whatever it maybe -- i think we both have the same run in with mental health!

remember, you keeping sane helps her massively when you are together. have a chilled day man.
