The threat of natural disasters is growing all across the planet. The major reasons for this include global climate change, unplanned urbanization and land use, unplanned infrastructure development, a lack of public awareness, and a lack of disaster risk reduction planning at all levels of government. Bangladesh ranks third in terms of catastrophe risk, according to statistics released in COP-25 by the German NGO Environmental Green Watch. Only Bangladesh, on the other hand, is ranked seventh in terms of catastrophe risk related to climate change. Even yet, Bangladesh is a world leader in the risk management of meteorological catastrophes. Bangladesh is making progress in disaster management by implementing several schemes.
