Disconnect-[ed]

in #disconnecting4 days ago

Hola! It's a beautiful Thursday in DD. The earth smells fresh after yesterday's rain. Dusts are no more, and the greens look alive than ever, yay! As always, we are thanking the Heavens for such blessings!

Dad was right when he said the rain would come sooner when we least expected it. And the downpour was so heavy, as if there was a storm. For the first time, we had connection issues with Starlink.

The dish had to search for a signal, which took a while. Some 20-30 minutes and more, before it finally became stable. We find it very strange because we have not experienced anything like it in previous years, even with the destructive typhoons that passed through our region. So why now? thought I.

Then I was reminded of the news that I read recently of Elon's Starlink's satellites falling from orbit. Do such incidents have something to do with it? Are they becoming less that our dish took that long to find one where we are? Well, that was just my thoughts running wild, lol!

Anyway, the connection problem didn't bother me (unlike in the past, where I usually got annoyed, lol). Coming and going to my Mom's place every week made me discover that it is nice to disconnect from time to time, and that's what I am trying to do these days. I go off the grid (although not literally) for some hours. It felt freeing, and the offline time allowed me to give some attention to other things - like sleeping.😁

It's crazy that I'm becoming a sleepyhead as I age. Two or three hours of snooze time was enough for me a few years ago, now, I can barely function even with 5 hours of bed time. I'm not sure what changed because, as far as I know, the quality of my sleep is still the same.

Aah, I digressed. But yes, I no longer get stressed when I get disconnected. So if I am offline, I might just be taking some beauty rest or at Mom's bedside, listening and laughing at her jokes or giving her gentle massages. Or perhaps I am just out somewhere, discovering things. But when I disappear for a long while, that's a different story.

Someone should call 911.

Because...

It would be very unusual if I stayed disconnected for days. Well, unless I forgot to breathe😜

All jokes aside, have a fantastic day, frens!

You have good options on what to do whenever you are disconnected so you won't miss your phone

Yes. I rarely use my phone, except for taking photos :)

Wow that's cool

Waaaat. How come Starlink acted up this time when it handled typhoons like a pro before. Maybe Elon’s satellites got tired too, lol🤣 And yeah , disconnecting is good and relaxing unless it’s unplanned, then it’s just stress 🤦🤦🤦🤦 killer stress

Haha, maybe! Some of them have fallen, as reported. Their lifespan is said to be 5 years.

And yeah, it can be stressful indeed but one we can manage :)

we can definitely manage.... I'll survive 😁

You are never really disconnected, 4g or 5g is basically everywhere so your phone never loses internet... Strange starlink didn't work, people always talk well about it

That's true, but I still choose to disconnect, even when my phone has internet access. Strange indeed, it was the first time we encountered such with Starlink.

You really look excited

I think it's not important why disconnected. The important thing is the connection is back and working perfectly. So there is nothing to worry and even if you know the reason you have nothing to you😅. So, it's better not to think about it.
It's also good you learned how to adjust yourself if you become disconnected.
