Chamath Palihapitiya, former Facebook executive is making waves after he spoke out about his “tremendous guilt” over growing the social network, which he feels has eroded “the core foundations of how people behave by and between each other.”
Okay, now this is being said by a former vice president of user growth at Facebook. What he is saying is pretty true. People are indeed addicted to Facebook and other social media tools these days, including me. I cannot stop checking my Facebook feed every now and then, and it has become a routine.
“The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops that we have created are destroying how society works: no civil discourse, no cooperation, misinformation, mistruth. And it’s not an American problem. This is not about Russian ads. This is a global problem.”
I'm sure many people are addicted to social media to an extent where they could get depressed if their photo doesn't get expected amount of likes. I looked deeper into my issue and found that I hardly post anything on Facebook, in fact what I'm addicted to are memes. Yes, memes! If you look closely, Facebook has turned into a meme sharing platform. No, really, just look at your feed, and soon they're going to enable monetization for everyone, making it even bigger than what it is now.
I enjoy browsing Facebook, and may be I'm addicted to it for a different reason than others, and being a content creator, it indeed has the potential to put food on my table, and so does steemit. Are you addicted to Facebook?

For real, i am addicted to Facebook at least every day i check my Facebook three times a day and now days i am also becoming addicted to steemit. hahaha but i am enjoying it seriously.
