which part of my family?
some of them have always been here..
for hundreds of thousands of years for all I know.
a geneology search (my brother's hobby) traced the patriarchal linage back to the fifteen hundreds...about then it get's a little unclear.
well yeah..that too.
Irish, Scotch, German for sure..dunno what all else..
I think they came over in the 1600's...some of them.
consider...I have two parents(2)...each of whom have two parents(4) ...each of whom have two parents(8)...
16...32...64...128...256...512....1024...2048...4096...8192....16384...32768.....65536....131072....262144....524288.....1,048,576....
after twenty generations i could number my direct ancestors at over a million people...consider a generation to be 20...that'd be 400 years ago...in the sixteen hundreds? I had an ancestor then who owned a plantation in SCarolina then (according to my brother's research)...and another one of rather ill repute...
but those were only two...out of a million...see the problem?
