RE: Now Seeking Brand-New Rebels, Disruptors, Critical, Creative & Independent Thinkers

Interesting notion there @stellabelle. The post yesterday was a rude awakening to all of us. It left a bad taste in the mouth because it was the truth. The system has its flaws but like any great idea it needs to adapt and change.

You have done well by thinking of a plan to disrupt the norm. To be on a look out for your disruptors. I will look for people that fits the bill and maybe post their profiles and post that made me see their potential.

Would it be possible to get a hashtag for easy reference to go back to this post. Although I did see there was a way to filter the post of a person using a desktop but most of the time I use my mobile to read and comment on posts.

Something stellawarriors ( I was thinking of the film The Warriors when you described disruptors haha)

Sort:

i think simply use #disruptors
Since this post had that as the first tag.

Yes disruptors would be apt to find this post again.

I was browsing through the other comments and the very things you said you would not do like following and upvoting their posted votes is the very thing that some people did.

It is a natural reaction. I remember this talk from Simon Sinek on Alphas. It is the very premise here because we all look at that number next to the name and we determine if we are the alpha or the other person based on how higher or lower their number compared to us.
Natural reaction to Alphas (Whales) is to kowtow and fawn over just like some of these folks. In some way I am too because am I always try to act with dolphins and whales albeit not by shamelessly asking for upvotes but by engaging them in a smart and with sense. Build a relationship. If they like a post and comment that is great if they upvote then that is just the cherry on top. Either way the best thing for social communities is to communicate, give feedback by commenting and building a relationship.

You see it often here in the Philippines. People naturally call people Sir and Maam. Both as a a honorific as well as to show deference. It has been ingrained in the Filipinos psyche to measure and see if they are an alpha or not. The group I was in before spoke your name with both reverence and fear because you have so much Steem power that you can make or break someone.

That is fundamentally the purpose of whales to make minnows better. To reward good content and pass over shitposts. It is by fixing the behaviour of what gets rewarded is a step to the right direction of steem.

May you find the right people who will help you realize your vision of Steemit. A place where good content is king and we all aspire to produce good content.

I remember a discussion I had with this dolphin about the power of upvotes and he corrected my naive way of thinking of how it is best utilized.

My naive self told him with full confidence that I often look at my feed and read the posts that I like and I upvote it. I upvote more than 10 posts a day there was a time I upVoted about 22 posts. He said well and good that I liked the post and voted for it but did I make an impact? Naturally since I am a minnow by reputation my vote is even less than 0.01 it doesn't even register and he said if I go beyond 10 I just lose more voting power and it would take time for it to go back to 100% so am I doing the people that made their wonderful post by voting for them when I am low. The answer is no. Sure I may have made a connection but financially I did not have any impact. Might as well be a comment in Facebook with no monetary value whatsoever.

I felt ashamed and thoroughly chastised on my naivety. I have much to learn and I appreciate when people call me out for having the wrong idea. I am man enough to admit my mistake and get better.

I think that guy is a good fit to what you want as your disruptors. Look him up @retiredinsamar. He really made a lasting impression to me and he has a commanding persona.

Here is a post that I see that he is a good candidate.

thanks for your epic reply and brutal honesty. I liked that. I will look up your suggestion. Thanks.

Thank you and I was writing that using my mobile phone and didn't realize how long and rambling it was.

Here is another recommendation. He was recommended by a friend who thought I would like the humor. Somewhat looks to me like a person who would set things on fire to watch it burn and with a maniacal grin on his face but that might just me projecting .

He has not been very active lately on this one but is active on his shorter account https://steemit.com/@traf

You might even know him because I think I saw a post of him saying ruffling some feathers. Well being infamous can be a trait of a disruptor.

He has 500k SP, but yes, I do like his style.
