Once a year, I make Scrying Mirrors. My great grandmother taught me, and she asked me to continue making them, so I do.
I make them with antique concave glass (which I look for throughout the year), and then I choose one month to make them. It takes an entire month, because scrying is lunar, and the tools made the way I was taught, need to be void of sun energy.
So beginning with the new moon, they are filled with energy through the full moon. Then the mixture I add to the back is slowly dried through the waning moon, to remove everything and leave a void good for Seeing.
They can be used for oil and water scrying, as well as dry...can be submerged in water and washed. No felt or chalk board paint here...
This year of course I chose the month of the eclipse...so they will be completed on August 22nd.
I will have 2" 40.00, 4" 48.00, 6" 56.00, 8" 68.00, 10" 100.00...and one 12" 120.00 USD. All round.
If you are in need of a mirror, and would like one that I make...please let me know here, or PM me in Discord PAL @elew. I am willing to sell for Steem or other crypto...or Paypal, and can ship them anywhere in the world.

I would like to buy one of the 12” mirrors, Elew. I used to have a 12” black, round, concave scrying mirror for over a decade. But I was recently rearranging things in my room and it got broke. But given the great care you appear to put into the creation of your mirrors, maybe this was meant to be, so that I would have an opening to find your store with such superior products. Do you have any of the 12” mirrors left for sale? If not, I’d be willing to wait until your ne t batch is made.
Hello,
We do not currently have a 12 inch, but hope to be making new ones as soon as the weather warms up just a bit... You can find the shop on www.etsy.com/shop/NewMoonTarot though...so we can talk more there :)
This is so cool!
Thanks flapjack :) They work very well, so I like to make them for people who do scrying...
Sorry for an ignorant question, but what is scrying?
It is a form of Seeing... If you have not heard of it, think Remote Viewing, without the coordinates... :) All questions are good, no worries.
Ohhh, okay. Thanks for the response.
Interesting process, I've read that sunlight can diminish magnetism in quartz. Does the moonlight have a charging effect for a mirror like it would for a crystal or is it more related to the clarity of the reflection?
Yes, it is the same as the quartz pretty much...it is an energetic process rooted in the lunar cycle.
Lovely. I was just working on a post of scrying mirrors.
I have two that have come down in my line -- One is Cornish and amazing, the other is amazing and just as old yet more common. Of course I cherish them both as a connection to my lineage and as working tools with patina. :)
What sparked my comment is that your Gran asked you to continue, I find that so enduring and Witchy (of course).
I will have to read your post too :) Yeah, handing down these things is very important. She is the one who taught me to make Rose Petal beads too. I have taught my daughters, and maybe someday grand-daughters :)
Oh my, I love those rose beads so much, I never learned to do that. So special and magical. It's these kinds of special things that live on in the future of people that we affect. <3
My Scrying mirror post will be up Sunday or Monday. I have a general idea of what I want to post for the week and then take photos and make notes and then work on the pieces as the inspiration comes. I loved seeing this synchronicity with your post.
I got round to posting about mine, it was something I thought twice about as I'm pretty private with all my ancestral tools -- the people around me love coming to the cottage as it's a museum of very interesting things, yet, as I get older I am thinking of documenting as a way of preservation. I hope you enjoy. <3
