Here is another update on what's going on with this.
Below are some links to get you up to speed if you don't know what I'm doing.
Here is the link to the post where I put out the idea I had.
Here is the link to Part 1 where I layout what I'm building.
Here is Part 2.
This is just another update. I think I have everything I need to do this and have settled on what its going to look like, mostly. The amplifier and the battery pack came in the mail the other day. Over the weekend I got together the wood I'm going to use. I was going to make it out of MDF, but none of the hardware stores around here had the stuff. So now its being made out of pine. I was going to paint it black when I was done since I was using the MDF, but now that I'm using wood, I think I'm going to use a dark stain. If it doesn't look good, I'll just paint over it black.
So the design also changed a little from the first drawing I put up. Instead of the controls for the amp being in the front, they will be facing up through the top towards the back. I'm going to make an area at the back where I can remove a panel and get to the amp and batter pack while keeping the rest of the cabinet mostly sealed. That also means I can make a screen across the front inset over the speakers and not having to worry about access to the controls. I think it will look cleaner. I picked up this thin, quarter rounded molding pieces that I'll make the frame for the screen out of. Then the material can curve back into the corners. I think it will look good. What I'm not sure is the red material I got to make the screen out of. I was thinking black a red when I got it, but now that I'm thinking of staining it, I might switch to black or some kind of earth tone. I'll see how red looks first though since I already have the stuff.
Here's a picture of the amp and battery pack.
Here is the the wood.
I got probably twice as much as I should need. But I will need in the end.
Next update I should be actually doing something rather then just collecting stuff. I'll let you all know how I do everything, even though it will probably be wrong. You can all learn from my mistakes. I thought of doing video bits, but I don't want you all seeing just how much I don't know what I'm doing.
Anyway, thanks for reading,
Brian
We just read all of the parts and you definitely have our attention, cannot wait for it all to come together
