Uh oh... can I put it back together

That is the question that my wife asks me.
I have spent some time working on my living room since we came back from vacation. We had already bought all the material for the floor and the fireplace. I had told my wife that it would make a great winter project.
Well winter is almost over and I hadn't even started it. So it is time for high gear.
I had to lock my laptop up so that I could stay focused and get to work. First step was ripping our the baseboards, mantle and carpet. I then painted the entire area including the kitchen as the two rooms are attached. This shot is is shortly after I started laying down the new flooring. The good news was that I bought myself a fun new flooring gun.

Hopefully I will be posting some more pictures we the project continues.

Wish me luck!

Looks good man, floor goes super fast to lay once you have the hang of it, I've done a lot in my days! I love the dark colour you choose, my wife won't let me have dark floors.

Ha ha.
Luckily my wife and I always find it easy to agree on colours.
This was my first hard wood floor. I have done a lot of laminate and tiled floors in the past.

You've got it under control.

They make guns for floors! Incredible. At least your room looks relatively rectangular - it's much more of a pain when it's all odd angles. I admire a man who get's his hands dirty and does his own work, hopefully when you finish it's always appreciated my other half always finds issues (but then she also calls me Bodgit and my eldest boy Scarper!)
