Hi,
Today I would like to show you something different than gun holster. It is leather bracelet made from thick cow hide. It is carved and stamped by hand. Center piece is a metal concho with Thor's hammer.
Here is a photo of work in progress piece:
And here some photos of finished bracelet:
Tell me what you think in comments.
Great job :)
Looks really nice

I wonder though:
How did you treat the hide after you finished the bracelet?
And did you carve the boar, or did you burn it (at least partly)?
Yes, the boar is first traced on damp leather and then lines are carved with swivel knife.
After carving I used various beveller tools and mallet to stamp the outlines and give 3d look. Texture of the background is stamped with a tool named backgrounder (there are different types and patterns). Then the leather is left to dry.
After drying I apply antique finish, it has a form of dense paste. You apply it on the leather and then wipe off the excess.
After drying I apply special finish to give it water resistance.
Thanks for the insight.
Didn't know the technique of bevelling yet, but no wonder as I only used thin leather patches to tailor some bags so far ^^
