Today I want to show you my latest work with recycling materials: An abominable Praying Mantis, this is one of the most beautiful and at the same time brutal insects that exist in nature, we all know that its voracity knows no limits and there is no insect that can resist it . His way of being has always caught my attention. Hope you like this design I made based of course on real praying mantises.
Hola amigos de hive, espero que se encuentren muy bien y con buena salud. Hoy quiero mostrarles mi útltima obra con materiales de reciclaje: Una abominale Mantis Religiosa, este es uno de los insectos más bellos y a la vez brutales que existen en la naturaleza, todos conocemos que su voracidad no conoce límites y no hay insecto que se le resista. Siempre me ha llamado la atención su forma de ser. Espero que les guste este diseño que hice basándome por supuesto en las mantis religiosas reales.
Process
For this work we need a soda can, razors, tweezers, pliers, a light bulb, circuit boards, I disassembled a PC mouse that no longer worked to remove the components and use them.
Para este trabajo neceatermos una lata de soda, navajas, pinzas, tenazas, un bombillo, placas de circuitos, yo desarmé un ratón de PC que ya no servía para sacarle los componentes y utilizarlos.
We cut the can and we will remove 8 pieces of 3 cm each to make the ends. We turn each piece into a tube and then we join each one at the ends to form the extremities, at the end we place another 1.5cm tube that will function as the base for the insect.
Cortamos la lata y sacaremos 8 retazos de 3 cm cada uno para hacer las extreminades. Convertimos cada retazo en un tubo y luego unimos cada un por las puntas hasta formar las extremidades, al final colocamos otro tubo de 1,5cm que funcionara como la base para el insecto.
After we have made the 4 extremities we make the body of the insect. We combine the light bulb with a piece of circuit board that we will place on the inside that will serve to put the extremities and in the upper part of the back we will place another part of the circuit board so that it fits us better. Then we will glue each end one by one using super glue.
Luego que hayamos hecho las 4 extremindades hacemos el cuerpo del insecto. Combinamos el bombillo con un retazo de placa de circuitos que colocaremos por la parte interior que nos servira para poner las extremidades y en la parte superior de la espalda colocaremos otra parte de la placa de circuitos para que nos quede mejor. Despues iremos pegando una a una cada extremidad usando super pegamento.
With a piece of soda can that we cut we will make the head. We will mold it to our liking, looking at how the mantises have their heads, and for the eyes we will use two capacitors that come on the circuit board.
Con un retazo de lata de soda que cortemos haremos la cabeza. La moldearemos a nuestro gusto fijandonos en como las mantis tienen la cabeza, y para los ojos usaremos dos capacitores que vienen en la placa de circuitos.
To make the limbs with which the Mantis hunts and catches its prey, we remove the ring that comes in the upper part of the soda can, then cut two pieces and with the scissors we cut so that we will make small teeth. Then we make some tubes and glue them to finish forming the limbs.
Para hacer las extremidades con las que la Mantis caza y atrapa a sus presas retiramos el anillo que viene en la parte superior de la lata de soda, luego cortanos dos pedazo y con las tijeras cortamos de manera que haremos unos pequeños dientes. Despues hacemos unos tubos y los pegamos para terminar de formar las extremidades.
Once we have the head and the upper extremities, we proceed to glue them with super glue, first we put the extremities and lastly we put the head. This is what it would look like.
Una vez ya tenemos la cabeza y las extremidades superiores procedemos a pegarlas con super pegamento, primero ponemos las extremidades y de último lugar ponemos la cabeza. Así se vería.
To finish we make the wings with an aluminum can, I had thought to make them with another material but when I did not find something suitable, I decided to be safe. So I made a template for the wings, I put it on top of the can and cut it with the scissors, finally with super glue I placed them so that they look together just like the real Mantis do.
Para finalizar hacemos las alas con lata de aluminio, había pensado hacerlas con otro material pero al no encontrar algo idóneo opté por lo seguro. Así que hice una plantilla para las alas, la puse encima de la lata y la corté con la tijera, por último con super pegamento las coloque de manera que se vean juntas tal como las tienen las Mantis de verdad.
Final Work

Pensandolo bien sería fantástico. Solo falta que yo las hiciera tipo marionetas para que sean fáciles de manipular..
si, es lo único, pero viendo tu nivel de trabajo, eso no sería ningún problema, de verdad que sería muy genial, su mayor atractivo sería el reciclaje para la creación de personajes
