This Do it Yourself Projekt "Wooden Camera Slider" only costs $25. It is totally useful and ablsolutly worth it. It's absolutely practice prove, Tested and used in real Video Productions. Completely made out of Parts from The Local Hardware Store. Very little to cut. The Groundplate and the Sliderplate were already cut by the store . The Rest of The Construction is basicly made from wooden square bars and some Screws and Holes as Two metall Brackets. The Cameramount is from an old Tripod.
Normally you would refrain from assembling materials with such different coefficients of thermal expansion, like Wood and Metall. But It works well for these purposes and it really looks Nice to me. Almost like a designer piece of furniture for craftsmen.
If you turn the head or the Camera by 90°, you can even go inclined planes in parallel. I also experimented in Updating it for hyperlapse "Moved Timelapses". For this I used a threaded rod and a hacked RC Servomotor. It had to be hacked to be able to turn 360 °.
A Siple Screw an a Nut will Help you Mounting A Adaptaplate and mount it on to one or Two Tripods. I often used it on One Big Tripod in The Middle.
Examplefootage "Mooved Timelaps" very short: https://goo.gl/EHsPvM
I Always Dream About Develope more Thouse Prototypes and two or three more versions. Maybe fully Remotecontroled, Programmable or completely Automatic Following.
Introduce Yourself. Every Day. Thanks for reading. Lars Screenpicture
